Yes, we love tv drama. Guilty pleasure. Love to watch, eager to get involved. So we did. Bottom of the inning on online (Chris Van Osselaer on Nucoda Film Master), colour grading (Peter Bernaers and Veerle Zeelmaekers, Nucoda Film Master), motion graphics (Freek Quartier, Fusion), visual fx (Jan Van Eetvelt and Laurens Bekaert, Fusion) and final mastering for Salamander, Skyline Entertainment’s newest and intriguing series for VRT.

Directed by Frank Van Mechelen, Framed by Lou Berghmans, cut by Pieter Smet.

On air as from december 2012.

Award Winning Ketnet campaign

After rallying to the short list at the Cannes Media Lions earlier this year, the ‘Ketnet Moves’ campaign now knocked it out of the ball park at the Mixx Awards, grabbin’ gold in the ‘Direct Response & Lead Generation’ category well ahead of its competition. Grid vfx stepped up when it came to editing (Mathieu Depuydt), 3D effects (Jeroen Desmet) and colour grading (Chris Van Osselaer). Directed by Dries Vos for Boondoggle agency.

Aha! Apparantely the caped crusader found a new quest in chasing the VT4 television station’s logo. Grid vfx is very fond of these station idents, and proud to have VT4′s trust in creating and developping the lot of them. All 3D fx and integration for the Dark Knight ident in particular were done by our very own Boy Wonder Jan Van Eetvelt.

K3′s newest music video unveils a hint of what you can expect of the group’s long awaited upcoming feature film. A mix of both Arri Alexa film footage and additional hi-speed clips shot on Phantom Flex, Grid vfx blended all things nicely. Directed by Dries Vos, edited by Ruben Buenckens on Final Cut Pro, Chris van Osselaer in charge of colour grading on Nucoda FIlm Master, and Jeroen Desmedt and Jhonie Aelbrecht toppin’ it off with some eyecatching yet subtle image enhancement. Full postproduction done at Grid vfx. The feature film, entitled ‘K3 en de (b)engeltjes’, is set to be released this year’s holiday season.

‘Dura Lex’ at Palm Springs International Shortfest

Short film ‘Dura Lex’ tops competition at Palm Springs International Shortfest
Not only the Croisette shimmers like gold these days : at the Palm Springs International Shortfest, Belgian nominee ‘Dura Lex’ got awarded ‘Best Live Action Short’. We’d like to congratulate director Anke Blondé and production company Menuet, and look forward to working together again. Grid vfx took care of the entire online part of Dura Lex’ postproduction; color grading by Olivier Ogneux, graphic design by Stijn Calis.
Apart from being the best live action short, Dura Lex became runner-up in the ‘Bridging the Borders competition’. But hey, in our opinion they’ve won that one as well.

Ketnet moves… to Cannes

Clutch time at the Croisette : two thumbs up for the ‘Ketnet Moves’ campaign which made it wire to wire to the shortlist at the Cannes Media Lions. Grid vfx is proud to have contributed to this fine production, and looks back at a pleasant alliance with agency Boondoggle, production company Koekentroef!, and director Dries Vos. No wonder we’ll be rootin’. Already practicing our cork poppin’ skills.

Grid vfx is proud to announce its renewed collaboration with production company Menuet and director Jan Matthys on ‘In Vlaamse Velden’, a prestigious Flemish drama series set in the turmoil of the Great War. Reminiscent of its teaming with Menuet and Jan on both ‘Katarakt’ and ‘Code 37’, Grid vfx is delighted and eager as a puppy to be part of this epic production. We already have our Wellies on. Scheduled as from fall, 2013.
